Our family culture comes from being a family-owned company that started when the company was founded in 1910. York’s and Jack McDonald and Smedes York’s ownership with their strong belief in family values is at the heart of our company’s success.

Board of Directors

McDonald York’s board of directors reflects our commitment to a family culture. Each of the company’s 10 board seats are occupied by McDonald and York family members. Family involvement in the company at the board level has produced real and tangible results. All of the multi-generational family directors live in the Triangle (except one) and have unique skills that provide broader management knowledge, including a long-term perspective. It assures our clients, partners, and employees that the family culture in which they experience will remain for generations to come.
