Innovation projects typically start with the hypothesis “What we’re doing today can be done better tomorrow”. We then follow a process for evaluating and creating the solution. We’re constantly thinking ahead and looking toward what’s next.
At McDonald York, we inspire, recognize, and support employees who are interested in innovation through initiatives and programs. Most importantly, we encourage new ideas, experimentation, and the questioning of conventional methods.
There is a thrill in launching something new and watching it gain momentum. Innovators enjoy coming up with and implementing their new ideas.
In an effort to unleash a culture of innovation at McDonald York, a group of creative thinkers from throughout the company come together to form McDonald York’s Innovation Council. The Council provides a forum to showcase creativity and develop new ideas, and promote knowledge sharing that will improve efficiencies, to raise the bar for client and employee satisfaction.
We created our own “Shark-Tank” style competition as an exciting way of generating innovative ideas.
Participants are asked to present ideas for improving our organization. Each participant identifies a very specific challenge along with the solution to drive meaningful change at McDonald York.
These competitions have initiated a wealth of new ideas and concepts that allowed us to improve our culture, processes or production.
